Photography
One of my passions includes photography, both film and digital. I was privileged to work in a dark room in high school for a film course. There, I learned how to develop my film and then make prints in the dark room, including being able to do special effects with the prints. I also love digital photography and editing the pictures to create different and unique pieces.

Traveling in New York for the day, I saw several horses with carriages lined up on the side of the road. I got up very close and waited for the horse to stand still and snapped a picture.

In this picture, I combined two separate images, both taken by me. I worked in the dark room for days on this piece, creating the special effect. It took several tries to get both images exposed properly on one print, but the end result was worth it.

This special effect was done in the dark room. To do this, you have to first create a regular print of the image, and then take that print and place it face down on a piece of undeveloped film paper. Expose it to the light for a couple of seconds and then you have created an invert.

To solarize a picture in the dark room, you must regular expose your picture for the correct amount of time, place it in the developer until it starts to develop, then place it under the light for only a second or two more, then quickly put it in the stop bath.

It was almost Christmas time and the wire reindeer were lit up along the driveway. I focused in on one of the light bulbs and thought it made an interesting picture with the red ribbon and the other light bulbs blurred in the background.

The fire had just turned vibrant blue and green colors since we had thrown in a pine cone that changes the color of the flames. The fire was too beautiful not to take a picture of.

One of the beautiful sunsets in the Caribbean, with the palm tree silhouetted in the middle of the picture with the sky flaring out behind it.

All the patterns the feathers created and the amount of detail on the parakeet are not normally seen, therefore, I decided to take a close up of the parakeet.

I had been walking in this old courtyard in Bermuda, and saw this building that looked like it was wasting away. I saw this door and immediately thought to take a picture, but I wanted to keep the ends of the palm tree in it. I thought it looked best in black and white, but decided to add in a touch of green to make it more intriguing than a typical black and white photo.

I took this picture in Ocean City, Maryland off the balcony of our hotel. I saw all the different colored lights and wanted to take a picture, but I realized it would not be interesting if I took just a regular picture. Therefore, I intentionally blurred all the lights together to create a different perspective of the lights.
